The Curator's Table
People often ask how I choose the pieces that enter the collection. The answer is rarely about rarity alone. A stone can be rare and still feel wrong in a room.
What I look for is quieter. I look at proportion first: whether the stone and vessel feel balanced, whether the object has enough presence without becoming decorative noise.
A mineral object has to live somewhere real. A desk. A shelf. An entryway. A bedside table. A quiet corner that does not need another loud thing.
Some pieces are turned away because the color feels too forced. Some because the surface is too polished to feel alive. Some because the scale is wrong.
The collection is intentionally small because the edit is the work. I am not looking for perfection. I am looking for material presence, balance, and a kind of stillness that holds up after the first glance.
